A clinical study has found a remarkably high prevalence of metal allergy in patients suffering from multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). MCS is a disease which effects the respiratory, neurological and gastrointestinal systems. MCS symptoms occur even at low levels of exposure to chemical vapours, even in the ambient environment. MELISA testing was used in this research to help to establish metal allergy in this highly sensitive group of patients.
